Spring 2025 - A few commissions, and a new project
North Devon coastline
The first two months of this year have started with me completing a couple of commissions. One is of Mousehole Harbour in Cornwall, which can be seen here. I love coastal views, especially enjoying the contrasts of man made structures such as harbour walls, lighthouses and fortifications against the backdrop of rugged cliffs, wide open beaches or a calming sea. My next project involves a coastline, from Minehead in Somerset, to Ilfracombe in North Devon. And now that the daylight hours are on the increase, I’ll be taking the South West Coast path, along the edge of Exmoor National Park, exploring much of this area for the first time, taking in places like Porlock Weir, Valley of the Rocks, Woody Bay and Hurlstone Point. Paintings to follow later this year.
March has also seen the completion of another painting of the Clifton Suspension Bridge, from the unusual viewpoint looking up at it from below. The end result can be seen here.
Happy Springtime to one and all!
